What is the shelf-life of Delisoft meals?
The total shelf-life of our food is 50 days from the day of manufacture. We guarantee a min. shelf-life of 14 days from the day of delivery.
Why do we sell frozen meals instead of hot food?
Contrary to popular belief, frozen food is superior in terms of freshness. Food that has been freshly cooked but not consumed will degrade quickly. The colour starts to change, moisture seeps out, and nutrients are lost. However, if the food is frozen quickly after cooking, the freshness and quality of the food is locked in.
At Health Food Matters, we use a special method of freezing to achieve this. The intricate balance of time and temperature is crucial to retain the delicate texture of our food.
Hot food that is exposed to the environment runs a risk of contamination. This risk increases during the delivery process. By freezing, we prevent the growth of harmful organisms. In addition, our food is hermetically sealed so that the contents are always protected, right up to the point that you peel it open.
Your loved ones might not have a predictable appetite or a fixed meal schedule due to illness or poor sleep. Therefore, cooking is a challenge because it requires a lot of preparation. What happens then, is that your loved one will have to eat according to your cooking schedule instead of the schedule dictated naturally by his body clock. This often results in frustration for both parties and also high food wastage if your loved one is not hungry.
With Delisoft, your delicious meal is already waiting in the freezer and can be served in just a few minutes, whenever your loved one feels hungry.
What if I don't want to eat the whole portion?
Sometimes, you may wish to let your loved one sample small portions of different items instead of one full portion. To do so, simply thaw the food in the fridge for 24 hours. Then scoop out only the amount that you wish to eat and heat them up. Keep the remaining portions inside the fridge for up to 3 days and enjoy them whenever you wish.
How spicy are your spicy dishes?
Spices are essential to most Southeast Asian diets and many of our seniors find the spices very comforting. However, we recognise that young children and the elderly may have weaker stomachs so we have carefully balanced the level of spice in our dishes. This way, everyone can enjoy their meals without tummy aches.
Are your products suitable for people of all ages?
Definitely! Our customers include people of all ages and very often, caregivers purchase our products for the whole family so that everyone can enjoy a nutritionally-balanced meal without needing to cook everyday.
Is Delisoft suitable individuals with diabetes?
Even though we do not label our products as "diabetic meals", the ingredients used in Delisoft are naturally low in sugar. We strive to provide you with healthy and nutritious foods which are meticulously designed by our chef, dietitian, and food technologist. At the end of the day, a well-balanced diet comprising different nutrients is the most important.
