Simmered Vegetable Puree

Flavour

Vegetables are so important for us. They provide essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Yet, it's one of the least consumed foods in our diet. This results in constipation and nutritional problems.

One of the reasons is that vegetables are difficult to cook for the elderly. Because of their high fiber content, they need to be soft enough, or cut into small pieces. Sometimes, you might even need to puree/blend them into a smooth paste so that they're easy to swallow. That's a lot of work isn't it?

In this range, you'll find different types of vegetables, each cooked according to a special recipe. With such an exciting variety of choices, your loved one will be able to enjoy something different each day.

And while you're here, spend 3 min to read this article on what to do when someone has constipation.

 FAQ

1. Can this product replace my daily intake of fiber?
It is recommended to consume 25-30g of dietary fiber per day and this should come from a variety of fruits and vegetables. Please use this product together with other vegetable dishes from Delisoft range. Alternatively, try a fiber supplement like Sunfiber if your loved one does not like to eat vegetables or has constipation.

2. Will the fiber content from vegetables be lost after being pureed?
Not at all. The process of pureeing or blending retains all the dietary fiber in fruits and vegetables. In contrast, juicing will remove most of the dietary fiber, leaving mostly the sugars.

3. Do I have to cook Vegetable Puree?
No. This is fully cooked so you can eat it at room temperature if you like. Just pour into a bowl and serve.
