Teriyaki Chicken

Description

The word teriyaki derives from the noun teri (照り), which means a shine or glaze given by the sauce made with soy sauce, mirin and sugar. The other word yaki (焼き) refers to grilling or broiling, a cooking technique originated by Japanese cooks in the seventeenth century. 

Traditionally, the meat is dipped or brushed with the sauce a few times during cooking until you see a beautiful shiny glaze. Garnish it with spring onions and have it with a warm bowl of pearl rice. 

Heating instructions: 

Heat from frozen

  • Microwave: Peel film/lid slightly and microwave on HIGH (800W) for 3 mins (Chicken) and 30 sec (Sauce); OR 
  • Steam: Do not peel film/lid. Pre-heat steamer. Steam Chicken and Sauce for 35 mins. 

Storage instructions:

Keep frozen below -18°C. Once thawed, do not refreeze.
